Mimicking the Share buttons for Facebook, Twitter, and other social networking services that you often see on web-based articles, Microsoft this week enabled the ability to share via Skype as well.
The Skype Share button is debuting on MSN.com and, in India, Sify.com. It works exactly as you’d expect: You see Skype alongside the more usual Facebook and Twitter buttons.
When you click the Skype Share button, a pop-up window appears, letting you add your own message and select one or more contacts.
Then, when you send the message, it appears inline in Skype just as with any other message.
If you are a web site developer, you can easily add this functionality to your own sites as well: Microsoft provides a simple wizard for generating the button code. There are multiple button layouts available for both desktop and mobile sites.
